The short version
- No accounts, no cookies, no local storage, no analytics, no third-party scripts or fonts.
- The icon font is Font Awesome, copied onto this domain at build time. Loading it from its own CDN would hand a third party the IP address of everyone who opens a page here, which is the line above stated as a build decision.
- We keep no record of who looked at anything. There is nothing here to export or delete.
- Near me asks your browser where you are. Only when you press it, and we don't store the answer.
- Coordinates are rounded to about a kilometre before they go anywhere near a URL.
- Our host logs request URLs and IP addresses for seven days. That we can't switch off.
What is kept, and for how long
- Your location
- Not stored. It sorts venues by distance and is gone when you close the page.
- Request logs
- The URL — including a rounded location, if the URL has one — and the IP it came from. Seven days, then deleted.
- Concerts and venues
- Kept, and updated from each venue's own agenda. None of it is about you.
- Error reports
- None. Nothing on this page reports to anyone.
Near me
- Nothing asks on its own, and nothing asks twice. Refuse, and the city box does the same job.
- Rounding to two decimals — about a kilometre — means a link you send a friend points at a neighbourhood rather than a doorstep. It costs nothing at any of the distances you can search.
- A rounded location in the URL is still in a week of request logs. If you'd rather it weren't, type a city.
Where the logs are
We host on Scaleway. Their Object Storage logs record the request URI and the source IP; we assume the same of the serverless functions the API runs on. Both go to Scaleway Cockpit, where we set log retention to seven days — its default. It can be set to five years. It isn't.
Venues
If you run one, About explains what we read from your site and how to tell us to stop.
